GRAPHIC DESIGN & VISUAL BRANDING
How I Got Here
DIGGES DESIGN is a one-woman show, a jill-of-all-trades for graphics, and I’m told a reliable source of creative wow. After a brief career in architecture I jumped sideways into graphic design and have never looked back. My early experience was in magazine work, designing for tech trade journals and culminating in running the design department at Wired Magazine. There I art directed a team of in-house designers and freelance talent, brainstormed revenue ideas with marketing, dreamed up tech events and hammered out details, oversaw photo shoots for advertisers, worked with print vendors, and rolled up my sleeves to design a whole lot of marketing & sales materials. After a while I relocated to Sonoma County, CA and started my own business as a boutique design shop. Been happily freelancing ever since.
My Process
I start a project by getting to know you, your business, and your brand’s spirit. Listening is my most useful design tool. From there I think, sketch, revise, repeat … and in doing so tease out the appropriate design solution for your needs. My goal is simple — to deliver spot-on design, tailored to promote your brand. Whether it be a logo for a new business, an annual report or website, your brand’s voice is clearly and consistently communicated through compelling design. Design that ultimately leads your customers to action.
Keeping it Real
When I’m not working I enjoy being outside. Period. With anyone doing most anything, but mostly with my family, dog, and friends (yes, in that order) — hiking, gardening, water sports to name a few. Generally living fully and embracing all things NoCal.
Active in my community, I’ve spent much time volunteering with schools, environmental non-profits, the arts. I currently serve on my city’s Public Arts Committee. Public art invites engagement at all levels, from spirited conversation to private moments of contemplation, and in doing so inspires creativity and strengthens community. Fortunately for me life is full of inspiring design, both nature- and human-made.
