DIGGES DESIGN | GRAPHIC DESIGN & VISUAL BRANDING
How I Got Here
DIGGES DESIGN is a one-woman show, a jill-of-all-trades for graphics, and I’m told a reliable source of creative wow. After a brief career in architecture I jumped sideways into graphic design and have never looked back.
My early experience was in magazine work, designing for tech trade journals at CMP Media and culminating in running the design department at Wired Magazine. There I art directed a team of in-house designers and freelance talent, brainstormed revenue ideas with marketing, dreamed up tech events and hammered out details, oversaw photo shoots for advertisers, worked with print vendors, and rolled up my sleeves to design a whole lot of eye-catching marketing & sales materials.
After starting my favorite project — my family — I/we relocated to Sonoma County, California. Since launching my own design studio I’ve been happily freelancing with clients of all shapes, sizes, and project personalities. Living in this magical, special place inspires me to protect it, and as such much of my recent work revolves around the environment. I’m happy to prioritize working with businesses that put planet first.
My Process
You’re here because you respect the importance of good design and understand how it shapes customer behavior. That’s the first step. (Check!) From here I get to know you, your business, and your brand’s spirit. Collaboration is key and listening is my most useful design tool. I think, sketch, revise, repeat … and after many iterations tease out the best design solution for your needs. My goal is simple — to deliver spot-on, eye-catching and engaging design tailored to effectively communicate your brand. Whether it be a logo for a new business, an annual report or website, your brand’s voice is clearly and consistently communicated through compelling design. Design that makes a difference and ultimately leads your customers to action.
Keeping it Real
When I’m not working I enjoy being outside. Period. With anyone doing most anything, but mostly with my family, dog, and friends — hiking, gardening, water and snow sports to name a few. Generally living fully and embracing all things NoCal.
Active in my community, I’ve spent much time volunteering with schools, environmental non-profits, the arts. I currently serve on my city’s Public Arts Committee. Public art invites engagement at all levels, from spirited conversation to private moments of contemplation, and in doing so inspires creativity and strengthens community.
Fortunately for me life is full of inspiring design, both nature- and human-made.
